Genesis for this website

While teaching ham radio classes as part of the Alexandria Radio Club for the past few years the instructors always get the question from students where can I find information about repeaters, what radio should I buy, how do I program my radio, what kind of antenna do I need for a mobile or home installation, etc. The instructors in some cases were able to provide a specific website or resource to answer the question however most of the times they were not able to provide a specific resource. The goal of this website is to provide a starting point resource for new hams as they begin their adventure in ham radio.
